Greene King
Greene King IPA, Abbot, 'Morland' Old Speakled Hen
Old, rabling adn ivy clad, set back from the street, this pub was actually the rear stables of the original street-facing posting and coaching inn which burnt down in 1949. The long, thin, beamed, split-level interior has a mixture of brick, wooden panelled, and primrose painted plaster walls. A flagstone floor is apparant, although much of it is covered with carpet. To the left is the bar and to the right a lower level non-smoking area. A GBG regular during the 1980s (as a Whitbread house) it is now owned by Greene King and the beer range reflects this ownership.
