No Real Ale
Recently 'done-up' the former Café Central is now darker (but strangley lighter at the same time) and more comfortable. But basically unchanged despite the three quarters of a million refit. It is still a 'European' styled bar/café converted that was converted from an old furniture store in 2000, with food available until 9pm. Children welcome during the day/early evening. Gets noisy at night. The recent upgraded by the Chapman group (after only three years as Cafe Central) to Eden included better more comforatable funiture and a "Garden of Eden". Two handpumps were installed in the makeover but have be removed without being used. There is also now a 'private' room.
How to find: Opposite the museum/town hall.
