Coolham to Worthing

The best way to do this crawl is with a designated driver. Public transport is not really an option.

Starting from the excellent Selsey Arms at Coolham (best way to get there is turn west at the A272 junction on the A24. Coolham is about 4km or 2.5 miles). The pub has a fine west-facing garden and welcomes everyone.

When you've finished head south along the B2139, after about another 4km there is a road to the right, signposted to West Chiltington. Drive into the village and take the left turn just before the Queens Head, head past the pub and church and you'll find the well hidden but worth seeking out Elephant & Castle. This is a grade 2 listed buidling and a wonderful place for a summers drink.

Leave the Elephant & Castle heading back up to the Queens Head where if you're still thirsty you can stop (the car park is at the back). Alternatively turn right - back the way you came, but not too far. Take the first right into Sinnocks, which turns into Southlands Lane and eventually Smock Alley. Careful, or you might miss the superb Five Bells. This excellent pub has an brilliant selection of real ales, great food and a warm welcome, you can even stop over night - but book first.

After leaving the Five Bells turn south again, you're now heading to Storrington. At the 'T' junction turn left to take you into Storrington, there are three pubs in the centre of Storrington.

From Storrington you can reach the A24 and back towards Findon and Worthing.

"Whatever you do enjoy it!"
